After a more relaxing breakfast than the previous morning, and feeling quite smug that I wasn’t aching as expected, we said goodbye to Lynne, Keith, Paul and Karen and left at 10am.

We were on our way to Tauranga to visit Noel’s Uncle Peter and Jeanette who we were going to stay with for the airshow at Tauranga on Sunday 26th.

This was the view of Tongariro and Ngauruhoe as we drove north to Taupo.

Further north, Tongariro, with steam venting from the side as we saw yesterday.

When we got to Taupo there were a number of speedboats having a run out.

Packing up…

After a Burger Fuel burger (really nice!) we set off from Taupo for Tauranga.

We arrived about 5.30pm and sat outside on Peter and Jeanette’s deck with a drink and nibbles until we went to collect Max from the bus he had taken from Napier to Mt Maunganui.

We had a lovely meal and chat and had a relatively early night as we were going to be up early for the airshow.
