We had a slow morning and then went to a local hotel on the shores of Lake Wanaka for a light lunch. There was a roaring fire inside and it was very cosy but we chose to sit outside in the bracing crispness! 🙂

Below is a view looking eastwards to the far hills which we were driving around yesterday. Our dawn breakfast was at the highest point of the far hills (not the nearer hill).

This view is looking more northwards.

Still not cold. 🙂

After lunch we then sat inside by the fire to thaw and chat. Richard then drove us over to Cardrona where Noel picked up his waterproof coat which had been left there and then Richard showed us how his car (a rather hot Subaru 4WD) stuck to the road. 😉

After a further drive around Wanaka we went ‘home’ and an hour later went to Relishes for dinner beside the lake (ok, with a road in between). The food there was very nice and we were served by a chap from Bath, UK who has been out here 6 years.
