So much for a Hawke’s Bay Christmas on the beach! It rained much of the day.

There should be a view of the countryside behind Noel as we’re at the top of Bluff Hill but it’s obscured by the rain. However, note that despite needing a waterproof jacket, the Kiwi in Noel has ensured the jandals (flipflops to us Brits) stay on 😆

Being optimistic sorts, we visited Kathmandu (outdoors shop) for its sales and bought sun hats each. The sun is pretty fierce here when it’s out. They may come in handy on the Tongariro Crossing…

In the early evening we went round to Max’s and used up all the leftover vegs, most of the sausages and some of the turkey in a frittata. A lot more space in the fridge now!
