We woke about 6:30am to the sound of the generator turning on followed by bilge pumping and then the engine started (Noel says a 350hp Gardner! 🙄 ).

Here’s a log of the trip (didn’t log the very start as I was below decks then).

There was low cloud but much more promise of better weather than yesterday.

We stopped here so John could show someone a Rimu tree. Apparently all the trees and bushes found in Doubtful Sound can be found on this football pitch-sized island.

After reaching Pearl Harbour we caught the Tracknet bus to Te Anau. Then we drove to Te Anau Downs to see what was there – here’s the view.

Since we couldn’t find a café for lunch we drove back to the town centre and found some lunch there. Here’s Noel chatting to a local bird. 🙂
