Woke early – the view at around sunrise with Little Barrier Island in the distance.

We spent the morning reading then went to Matheson Bay in the afternoon, just down the road from the house. We wandered around the rocks then went for a swim. There was a dog which was so excited to be in the water and retrieving sticks. He’d spin round and round and deliberately cause more splashing! His owners left him on the beach in the end as he didn’t want to stop playing so some children carried on throwing sticks. Eventually the dog was too tired so trotted off in the direction his owners had gone!

Then we sat on the beach and read while having a coffee and chocolate brownie. 🙂
