This was the view from the house at 6am – that’s not the sun but the moon. Not bad eh! The island is Kapiti Island, a nature reserve.
We had a nice breakfast and went out to the local market which had lots of fresh produce.

We spent the day relaxing before going for a walk on the beach and collecting a few Pipis. We thought we might go swimming but there had been a lot of wind the previous day and there were lots of wooden ‘bits’ into the water so we decided not to.

It was a hot, sunny day and the beach was packed with people…not! If it were the UK it would be packed due to the rarity of hot, sunny days and a limited number of sandy beaches!

Towards sunset we had dinner outside. It was a bit breezy hence the jumpers. I was very impressed with the meals which we were cooked during our stay. Tonight it was a Burmese monkfish curry with a tomato kyet and coconut rice. Mmmmmm.
