After finishing packing Noel and I drove over to Max’s and had a very nice gurnard and egg lunch. Then we set off on the drive to Wellington. When we set out it looked like we’d be driving into heavy rain but somehow it mainly held off until we almost got to Upper Hutt where Tania & Matt live.

We drove past the Tui Brewery. It had a billboard up in the style of one of its adverts and it said ” Tui Brewery. Not worth the visit”. šŸ™‚ Yeah, right!

We also drove through Pahiatua which had a children’s playground containing a yellow Harvard with a slide coming out from its nose!

Of course, on the way down we did have to stop for ice cream. I liked this sign for WaiPai – makes a change from advertising WiFi!

We stopped at Tania & Matt’s and had a cup of tea.Ā Their children, Alex & Scarlett, were having a lovely time playing, and their dog ‘Sage’ and cat ‘Oscar’ were friendly. An hour or so later Jason and Michelle arrived and they had a drink before we ordered some pizzas.

Tania and faithful pooch, Sage. šŸ™‚

We had a very nice evening and looked at Tania & Matt’s wedding photo albumĀ and after coffee Noel and I drove off following Jason & MichelleĀ to Lower Hutt to stay the night at theirs. We had a quick look at their new TV and their wedding photo album and I tried Milo (hot chocolate)Ā for the first time before we called it a day.
