We were invited to the launch of a 29ft, one-off designed boat at Napier Sailing Club today. A friend of Pauline’s who has taken us sailing, Peter, is a boatbuilder and built the boat being launched.

Pauline supplied a very tasty picnic and bubbles. Here’s a happy Peter doing the honours.

I see no ships. Hang on a minute, yes, now you mention it, there’s one, hanging around…

Are you sure this thing will float…?

How many men does it take to launch a boat? I wonder what they’re like with lightbulbs?!

Ok, who’s hidden the plug?

Splash…!

Peter kindly invited us sailing on Saturday but we’ll be on our way to our 2 day cycling trip WNW of Taupo.

In the evening we went to the local Globe cinema with Pauline and some of her friends, where they serve pizzas just before the film and wine can be taken in. šŸ™‚

After the film Noel and I went to have a drink with Max and Rose before we finally had a late coffee at The Thirsty Whale beside the marina.

We had been hoping for a Tiger Moth flying lesson tomorrow but yet again the wind is forecast to be too strong so we won’t even drive over to Waipukurau airfield.
