Drove from Napier to Puketitri this afternoon through very green countryside, amid rain showers.
Stopped at Puketitiri for a late lunch and coffee at the Kaweka Café. It’s based in the former school and contains the bones of a Moa, an extinct species of 12ft high birds. A pretty impressive size.
Apparently the Moa bones were found when a local was digging a sheep trench. But of course. Happens to me a lot too.
On the way back we stopped to admire the view as some parts were clear and others had thunderstorms and rain.
Sunday lunch!
We ended up at Shed 2 in Ahuriri for a drink.
